Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Your adventure begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a representative from Tansania Toll Safaris will warmly welcome you to Tanzania.

After collecting your luggage, you will enjoy a private transfer to Arusha, the main gateway to Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. The journey passes through local settlements, farms and beautiful countryside, with possible views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru when conditions are clear.

After checking into your hotel or lodge, you can relax and recover from your journey. Your safari guide will also provide a short briefing about the days ahead, including travel arrangements, wildlife viewing expectations and important safari information.

Day 2
Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you leave Arusha and travel southwest through the countryside toward Tarangire National Park, one of the most distinctive wildlife areas in Northern Tanzania.

Tarangire is famous for its enormous baobab trees, rolling savannah, seasonal wetlands and the life giving Tarangire River. During the dry months, large numbers of animals gather around the river and remaining water sources, creating excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.

The park is particularly celebrated for its impressive elephant populations, and you may encounter large family herds walking between woodland and river valleys. Other wildlife commonly seen includes lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, waterbucks and numerous bird species.

Day 3
Mto Wa Mbu Cultural Tour and Overnight in Karatu

Today brings a refreshing change of pace as you travel to Mto wa Mbu, one of Northern Tanzania’s most culturally diverse communities.

Located near Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Mto wa Mbu is surrounded by fertile farmland, banana plantations and traditional villages. Your cultural tour provides an opportunity to meet local residents and learn about everyday life, farming, craftsmanship and food traditions.

Depending on the selected experience, you may walk through local farms, visit banana plantations, explore village markets, meet artisans or enjoy a traditional Tanzanian lunch prepared using locally grown ingredients.

Day 4
Serengeti National Park Central

After an early breakfast, you leave the green highlands of Karatu and travel toward the legendary Serengeti National Park.

The journey passes through the Ngorongoro highlands before descending toward the vast Serengeti plains. As the landscape opens, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, with grasslands stretching toward the horizon.

Your destination is Central Serengeti, commonly known as the Seronera region. This part of the park is famous for its permanent water sources and exceptional year round wildlife.

During your afternoon game drive, you may encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and several antelope species. Rocky kopjes provide excellent resting places for lions, while riverine areas are often productive for leopard sightings.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Overnight in Karatu

After breakfast, you leave Central Serengeti and travel toward the dramatic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The road itself remains part of the safari, with opportunities for wildlife sightings as you cross the plains and gradually climb toward the crater highlands.

Upon reaching the crater rim, you will be rewarded with one of Tanzania’s most breathtaking views. The enormous Ngorongoro Crater stretches below, surrounded by steep volcanic walls.

You descend into the crater for an extraordinary game drive across grasslands, woodland, wetlands and freshwater habitats. Wildlife is remarkably concentrated here, offering opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, hyenas and gazelles.
